Dillian Whyte compared to great Joe Frazier by Johnny Nelson

Johnny Nelson claims Dillian Whyte and great Joe Frazier have similarities

Former champion Johnny Nelson says Dillian Whyte is similar to legendary former champion Joe Frazier. Whyte who will face rival Dereck Chisora at the O2 Arena on Saturday night is looking for a rematch with Anthony Joshua.

After being on eight-fight winning run since he lost to Anthony Joshua, Whyte has stepped up his training environment and become a full time athlete.

Back in December 2016 Chisora and Whtye faced each other in a breathtaking fight in which most thought it should have been a draw.

Fighter-turned-pundit Johnny Nelson says the fighting spirit of Whyte reminds him of American great Frazier.

Nelson said: “You have a more developed and more mature fighter in Dillian Whyte.

“And he reminds me of Joe Frazier.

“That’s because he’s the kind of guy that just wants to fight.

“He’s in the number-one position.

“Most fighters will sit, do nothing and wait for that world title shot.

“That’s not Dillian, he says ‘no, I want to fight’.

“That’s what I rate about him.”

The winner of the bout will likely emerge as favourite to fight Anthony Joshua at Wembley on April 13, with Chisora desperate to deal a bitter blow to Whyte’s ambition of getting right amongst the elite heavyweight mix.
