Athletics: Mujinga Kambundji beat former Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce at Bellinzona

Mujinga Kambundji had the biggest applause of the evening when she beat Shelly-Ann Freaser-Pryce

Home favourtie Mujinga Kambundji ran 11.14 seconds at Galà dei Castelli International Meeting in Bellinzona, Switzerland to win the womens 100m.

Five days after coming down from a first time sub-11 seconds run in her career over the 100m (10.95 seconds), she came from behind to win again, and run her 4th fastest time of the year.

Next up was the Diamond League Meeting in Monaco before preparing for the European Championships in Berlin. Kambundji won bronze in the same competition two years ago in Amsterdam (NED) and will be looking to improve on her position.

She is currently No. 2 on the continent behind Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith who has ran 10.92 seconds earlier this year.
