Zharnel Hughes sets new world lead and personal best of 9.91s at Racers Grand Prix
Zharnel Hughes ran a new world lead and personal best time of 9.91 seconds to win the men’s 100m at the Racers Grand Prix in Jamaica.

Hughes who was said to be confidence of achieving the feat excuted a stella performance beating the fast starting Jamaican Yohan Blake.
The 9.91 seconds he ran, bettered his previous PB of 10.01s and the previous world lead of 9.92 which was set by American Mike Rodgers a few days prior. This also came weeks after he clocked a wind-aided 9.99s at the Boston Classics in the USA.
“I am feeling really good, I have to give God thanks first for making this possible and my team. My mom is in the stands so I want to dedicate this to her and my team,” said the Anguillan native who switched allegiance.
The fast-finishing Hughes won ahead of American Noah Lyles (9.93s) and Jamaica’s Yohan Blake (10.00s), to bring the curtains down on another pulsating Grand Prix.
