During his career he featured in three Olympic games including London 2012, won Commonwealth and European Gold medals in the 2010 Championships and was one of the hurdlers to help Chinese superstar and former world record holder Liu Xiang off the track after his injury and dramatic exit.
Andy Turner talk about how his journey began in becoming one of Great Britain’s most prolific sprinters, opens up about his family, how the death of his mother impacted him mentally and discusses the robbery which took place during her funeral.
Turner said: “It’s kind of tough watching your mum pass away. I had a couple weeks after where I did struggle.”
Towards the end of his career, Turner joined his former team mate Dwain Chambers for a fight in a boxing match. He talks about how he felt facing one of his idols growing up, his track and field career and what prompted his switch to other sports.
Turner said “seeing him in the ring and then having to get punched in the face by him, it is just bonkers.”
