After helping Marlon Devonish MBE, Darren Campbell MBE and president of UKA Jason Gardener MBE on the last leg to beat the United States to the gold in Athens in 2004, Lewis-Francis was part of another gold-medal winning relay team six years later at the Commonwealth Games in Delhi, where he also won silver in the individual 100m final.
Lewis-Francis said “If that’s your full time job to make sure you deliver medals for somebody else, that’s were a conversation needs to be had”
“I remember walking off and Donovan Bailey putting his arms around me and saying, listen yeah you’re the one for the future, I was like this is Donovan Bailey, I just watched him win the Olympics whats going on”
As well as talking about his story, Lewis-Francis also gives advice to up and coming sports people in how to navigate their careers to avoid any pitfalls or mistakes that might occur within their journey.
