Anthony Joshua claims fight with Deontay Wilder is ‘just a matter of when’ after American’s boast that he isn’t ready for the challenge

Anthony Joshua is looking ahead to a fight with Deontay Wilder or David Haye.

Anthony Joshua has ramped up the war of words with Deontay Wilder by insisting that a bout against the American heavyweight is inevitable.

Wilder had claimed via a video on Twitter that Joshua was not physically, mentally or emotionally ready for the challenge.

But Joshua insists that he could face the 31-year-old or David Haye when quizzed on his next opponent after a bout with Kubrat Pulev in Cardiff on October 28.

‘We’ve got David Feathers (Haye) and Beyonce (Deontay) Wilder,’ he told Sky News, before laughing, saying: ‘I had to do it’.

‘All these guys talk about me all the time and it’s negative, always negative, but sooner or later I’ll be ramming my jab down their throat.

‘It’s not a matter of if, it’s just a matter of when when it comes to the likes of David Haye and Deontay Wilder because there has been no era of boxing where heavyweights, middleweights, welterweights haven’t come together.

‘We have to fight each other and that’s just the way it’s going to go.’

Wilder was part of the 90,000 Wembley Stadium crowd who watched ‘AJ’ defeat Wladimir Klitschko in April that leaves the Brit holding the IBF, IBO and WBA (Super) Heavyweight Titles.

Wilder has questioned Joshua’s lack of popularity stateside, with the WBC Heavyweight Champion claiming that: ‘He is not that popular over here. If he wants to be global, he needs to come to America to fight me.’
