It was another golden night at the London Stadium as Sophie Kamlish sealed a remarkable first world title in the T44 100m as Hannah Cockroft increased her tally of world medals to a staggering nine with the T34 400m title.
After playing spectator to a host of British gold medals over the past three days, Olivia Breen claimed one all of her own in this morning’s session at the World Para Athletics Championships in London.
On what he described as an ‘absolutely incredible’ night inside the London Stadium, Jonnie Peacoc claimed back his T44 100m world title in magnificent style on evening three of the World Para Athletics Championships.
Throwing in the event in which he won Paralympic gold back at London 2012, Aled Davies added a third F42 Discus title to those won in 2013 and 2015 with a championship record at the World Para Athletics Championships in London this morning.
The British Athletics para team hosted a ‘Super Saturday’ all of their own at the World Para Athletics Championships this evening as Richard Whitehead (coach: Keith Antoine), Sophie Hahn (Joe McDonnell), Hollie Arnold (David Parker) and Sammi Kinghorn (Ian Mirfin) all struck gold for the team inside the London Stadium, with the latter pair setting world records along the way.
It was a golden moment for Stef Reid (coach: Aston Moore) as she secured her first ever world title in the T44 long jump in front of the adoring home crowd at the London Stadium.
Back in the stadium where she made her name back in 2012, Hannah Cockroft (coach: Jenni Banks) pushed to a memorable eighth world championship gold in a world record time of 17.18 (0.0) in the T34 100m at the opening session of the World Para Championships London 2017.
