The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Nike announced today an expansion of their existing partnership that will make the league’s new official oncourt apparel provider the presenting partner of the NBA London Game 2018.
The regular-season game will feature the Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics at The O2 on Thursday, Jan. 11.
In addition to being the presenting partner of the NBA London Game 2018, Nike will receive prominent brand exposure, including event logo inclusion, oncourt and in-arena signage, along with hosting several fan activations and promotions leading up to and during the game.
“The NBA London Game 2018 presented by Nike is a great showcase of our game and provides Nike with an excellent opportunity to connect with NBA fans in the UK and across the region through a range of exciting in-arena, media and retail promotions,” said NBA EMEA Vice President, Global Marketing Partnerships & Emerging Markets, Marc Armstrong. “We look forward to expanding our partnership with Nike as we welcome the 76ers and Celtics to London.”
The 76ers’ current roster features 2016 and 2017 No. 1 overall Draft picks Ben Simmons and Markelle Fultz, respectively. The Celtics’ roster currently features four-time NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving and 2017 No. 3 overall Draft pick Jayson Tatum.
In addition to London, Nike will also be the presenting partner of the NBA Mexico City Games 2017, which will feature the Brooklyn Nets playing regular-season games against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday, Dec. 7, and against the Miami Heat on Saturday, Dec. 9, at the Arena Ciudad de Mexico.
